The Story : Pixi Glow Tonic.

Who doesn't know Pixi Glow Tonic? It's the very well known skin care item that is so happening in Jakarta.

To start the story of Pixi, I actually has already known the brand since My best friend Queen gave me eye-shadow pallets for birthday present. I didn't know that they have a skin care. It was circa in 2011.

For the eye-shadow pallets quality is quit nice. It gives a natural look for you. Texture is also not chunky, easy to apply.

Back to Pixi Glow Tonic. I was quite late to get my hands of this product. Because I was too afraid to play with acid toner. Then I read a lot articles and finally got this in November 2015 from my friend Dita. As a present for doing her makeup in Banjarmasin. Yes, that's how I sometimes do with my best friends. Barter! Makeup service with some beauty products. Lol. Thank you ditaku sayang.

What's the ingredient?

Aqua, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Glycolic Acid, Ammonium Glycolate, Glycerin, Glucose, Fructose, Sucrose, Urea, Dextrin, Alanine, Glutamic Acid, Hexyl Nicotinate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Biotin, Polysorbate 20, Fragrance.

Enriched with glycolic acid – a natural derivative of sugar cane, and member of the alpha-hydroxy acid family – this gentle, exfoliating formula dissolves the bonds binding dulling dead cells to skin’s surface, to reveal the ‘new’ healthy skin cells underneath. Aloe then soothes and hydrates while oxygenating ginseng promotes cell health and skin vibrancy; witch hazel firms and tones, while horse chestnut boosts blood flow, to grant your complexion a naturally fresh and dewy radiance.

One thing that I don't like from the list that they have fragrance. I can't quite describe the smell except to say that it's quite strong for my like.

The Results :

Waktu saya coba di minggu pertama, didaerah dekat pipi dan leher muncul jerawat. Kemudian saya tanya dengan skin care guru Tika from thefruitcompote.com. She said that maybe I was over exfoliate. I wasn't used to acid toner.

Aha! That makes sense. Saya baca di beberapa artikel memang kalau over exfoliate terkadang menyebabkan muncul jerawat. Karena selama minggu saya pakai non stop.

Setelah saya tau hal tersebut, penggunaan toner di stop dulu dalam beberapa hari. Then start using it again for every two days, only in night time routine. Cara ini dilakukan agar kulit terbiasa dahulu dengan acid toner.

Voila! Jerawat pun tak muncul kembali. Hanya tinggal menunggu jerawat yang dahulu mengempis. Menurut saya hasil dari menggunakan Pixi Glow Tonic selama sebulan, saya notice kulit lebih glowing dan bersih. Tapi menurut saya toner ini tidak membuat jerawat cepat mengering, tetapi lebih perlahan mengering dan mengempis.

Saya suggest untuk kamu yang belum pernah memakai acid toner di wajah kalian, coba terlebih dahulu 1x pada malam hari. Selama seminggu 3hari ( selang seling ) dahulu. Setelah sebulan dan kulitmu sudah terbiasa dengan acid maka kamu bisa coba untuk lakukan setiap hari. Tapi menurutku tetap 1x sehari pada night pada malam hari.

Untuk cara penggunaannya setelah memakai Pixi Glow ini dan tunggu selama 5menitan sampai mengering. Kemudian spray evian water atau hydrating toner. Selanjutnya kamu bisa pakai moisturizer or face oil.

Produk acid toner ini belum masuk ke Indonesia, tapi kamu bisa dapatkan di beberapa Instagram Seller dengan mencari #jualpixiglowtonic, I believe you will get some sellers. Harga yang dijual sekitar Rp 550rb - Rp 650rb untuk isi 250ml.

Kalau kamu mau mencoba produk ini, baiknya kamu membeli botol yang lebih kecil. Pixi Glow Tonic juga tersedia variant 100ml. Harganya pun setengah dari 250ml.

Hmm kalaupun kamu tidak cocok, sepertinya kamu bisa jual kembali di Instagram. Pasti banyak yang tertarik! Lol

Final verdict :

Will I repurchase? Yes, despite the unpleasant smell, I still can see that it works for my skin.
